Although this wasn’t an official track on either of Jamie Foxx’s albums, it quickly became popular after he performed it at the end of one of his “Unleased” stand up comedy DVD. I’ve always wanted to hear what the studio version of the this track would sound like and Joe B.’s version of the song gives us a good idea. The 20 year old Memphis native always sings in the garage (I’m guessing for better acoustics) with his piano. I’m impressed with not only his vocals but also some of his song choices. In addition to Jaime Foxx and Trey Songz, Joe also has a few Kem covers. Any 20 year old that loves Kem is alright with me. Almost Famous Friday: Natosh – “Never Felt This Way”
I was watching old Martin reruns and the episode when Martin proposed to Gina came on…one of my favorites. Hearing Brian McKnight sing “Never Felt This Way” brought back memories and reminded me how much I loved this song. I decided to search for covers of the song and ran across Natosh, a beautiful Ontario native. Melanie Fiona and Drake may have some competition coming out of Canada. She is a truly talented vocalist. Check out her Youtube channel, Myspace page or Facebook page.
…and for you Martin lovers
Almost Famous Friday: A Tribute to Michael Jackson
Although no one can do it quite like Mike, I think Drew Dawson David did a great job with this “Man In The Mirror” cover. This self proclaimed Rascal Flatts fanatic even admits that this is a song you don’t attempt unless you can back it up. I say he did this song justice, what say you? INJECKTION WORTHY??
You can see and hear more from Drew Dawson David on his Youtube channel, or his Myspace page.
Almost Famous Friday: Eric Stanley Makes Us Wanna Say “OMG”
I know we normally feature vocalist for AFF, but the ADDIKTS don’t discriminate. Good music is good music. Not since I first saw Miri Ben-Ari on Apollo have I been so impressed with someone’s violin skills. On Eric’s Youtube page you can find an array of cover’s from Eminem to B.o.B. to Trey Songz. Trey Songz even gave Eric the honor of shouting him out on Twitter. This Richmond, VA native, who is a music major at Virginia Commonwealth University, has a bright future ahead of him. You can keep up with Eric’s latest videos on his Youtube channel and get updates on his Twitter or Facebook page
